SOAR54 was an all-volunteer animal rescue group that served Mineral County, Montana 2023/2024.  Our mission is ongoing. The need remains, but the founding heart of our rescue had to leave Montana. And as many have learned before, the need to rescue (and educate about) stray and abandoned animals in our communities is great. The resources needed to do so was even greater. So we are thankful that we helped a couple hundred by spaying & neutering and adoption.
We know we can't save them all, but we can save as many as WE CAN. 
That's why we called ourselves SOAR 54!

Like much of the U.S., Mineral County MT needs to manage its homeless domestic feline population. Our county also lacks affordable, convenient and timely access to spay and neuter services. Supporters of Animal Rescue 54 (SOAR 54) was formed to help to solve this challenge in our rural communities.
  • If you find an animal in need, contact the Humane Society or another rescue; they will figure out how to help.

  • If you have kittens in need of vacination/spay/neuter, call the Humane Society in timely manner for help.

ABOUT SOAR 54

The founder of Supporters of Animal Rescue 54 is a woman with decades of animal rescue experience. In 2023, Debbie Burleigh and her family dedicated their lives and property in Superior, Montana, to this cause. She and her Team of Volunteers built SOAR 54 into an efficient place to compassionately serve the homeless animal population here in our rural county. However, we were unable to sustain this great endeavor.

We are currently pursuing 503(1)c Non Profit Status.

We are here to rescue, spay & neuter, and find homes for animals that are homeless or abandoned.
If you are interested in adoption of a SOAR 54 Rescued Kitten or Cat, there are two options.

* Note: In order to standard or foster adopt,  you will need to supply proof of address, and, if renting, proof of your landlord's approval. This can be a letter or a verbal okay from said landlord. Thank you for understanding our strict stance on this process and the time needed for such.

STANDARD ADOPTION

To adopt a SOAR 54 rescued animal, you must fill out an application in person and pay a minimal fee at time of pickup. All animals adopted through the standard protocol are vaccinated, spayed or neutered at the time of the adoption. Be prepared to spend at least 30 minutes with Debbie to fill out and sign the Adoption Application.*

FOSTER ADOPTION

To foster-adopt an animal, you must fill out our contract in person. Be prepared to spend at least 30 minutes with Debbie to fill out and sign this Foster-Adopt Contract. Note that Foster-Adopt requires you to neuter/spay and to provide follow-up proof of this critical action.
